The Moment You Wake Up, Before You Put On Your Make-Up

Make-up is an essential part of many girls’ and ladies’ daily routine. It may be a case of a little bit of lipstick and some concealer and off you go, or it may be a more determined, more elaborate regime that requires getting up hours before work to make sure that everything is done to a T. But if you are one of those who feels naked without a decent covering of make-up, it is important to remember one thing – that stuff has to come off at night. All of it. As a preference you really should wear as little as you can, because while it may be a good way to show off your best features (and conceal those you’re not so fond of), make up stops your skin from doing some things it has to do.
Your skin, for starters, needs to breathe. That’s why you have pores. Without this necessary feature, your skin would clog up and you would break out in all kinds of blemishes. It also needs the space to keep itself cool, because if your skin reaches a certain point without being allowed to cool off it will begin to flush and look blotchy – something no amount of concealer can really hide. So if you can get away with a light dusting, do not go overboard and smother your skin. You will regret it. It is much, much better to allow one little blemish to go uncovered than to cause another several to spring up.
And at the end of the day, you have to take it off. There are so many reasons why, not least the dry-cleaning bill for your pillowcases if you allow them to become caked in make-up. But more importantly, if you do not allow your skin to be itself while you are asleep, you are simply adding more skin problems to the bargain. Sooner or later you will cause yourself problems that no amount of make up can conceal. And there is one final reason you should go easy on the make up – natural beauty wins out every time. You can ask anyone – the less make-up you wear the better you look.

If you are one of the many people who has problem skin, then you have in all probability spent a lot of time – and money – trying to correct the problem. Certainly when the problem is a new one, it is easy to get unrealistic hopes about the products available on the market which insist that they are the only one you will ever need, that they will catch and cure your problem and enable you to go about life without any further concerns. But the difficulty with mass marketed skin care solutions is that they are just that – mass marketed. Over the counter remedies for problem skin have the unavoidable drawback of trying to be all things to all customers – often with the result that they do not do much for some.
In such a situation, if you have found that mass marketed skin care products have failed you, there is a solution that some people don’t give much thought, but which can be hugely beneficial, and it is a quite simple one – ask your doctor. If you have a problem with your eyes, you will go and see an optician. If you have a problem with your skin, you could go and see an epidemiologist. But in the first instance, your General Practitioner can often diagnose and help you treat whatever is causing your problem skin. As a GP, there is little that they have not seen hundreds of times before. So you can tell them what is going on, and they can point you to a solution with a minimum of fuss.
This will often mean a prescribed solution. It may come as a bit of a shock to have something prescribed for a situation that many people seem to deal with without anything more drastic than a trip to the supermarket. But often the problem will be something more specialised than the mass market really addresses. And this can mean taking oral medication, or using a lotion prescribed by your GP. If either of these is the case, the advantage is that the prescribed solution will work more quickly – and more completely – than whatever you might find in the Skin Care aisle at the supermarket.
Let Nature Do The Work – Skin Care The Simple Way

There is a lot of money spent every year by people who want their skin to look as clean and fresh as possible. Whether in order to attract a potential suitor, or just to look as presentable as possible for a public-facing job, there are a lot of reasons to make sure that you keep your skin in top condition and free of any blemishes. Particularly when it comes to facial skin, there are so many things that can detract from a fresh, clean appearance, and consequently a lot of different things one needs to consider when shopping for skin-care products. From acne to oily skin, from spots to blackheads and all the other things that nature can throw at you, it is worth looking at the solutions that nature provides to all these problems.
Washing your face regularly is an absolute must. But many of the mass-produced soaps and face wash lotions that are available on the general market contain chemicals that make them quite harsh for everyday use. By washing the skin with chemically-enhanced soap you can strip it of its natural oils and leave yourself looking, quite literally, washed out. There is a fine balance to be struck, and arguably the best approach is to purchase a natural skin cleanser for your face. Many products use aloe vera, a gentle natural ingredient that allows your skin to be cleaned gently, without giving up its natural oils.
The advantage to using natural skin cleaning products is that they do not contain anything that has been scientifically constructed. While scientifically produced facial cleansers do the job for which they are purchased – removing blemishes and tackling impurities – admirably, they have a tendency to be quite harsh if used overly regularly. And if you find that you need to wash your face more often than once a day, they can leave you with quite raw skin, which is painful to maintain. So looking for natural compounds is a good way of being kind to your skin in the long term while not ignoring the short term need to keep it clear of blemishes.
